Supporting volunteer stewards and event organisers in the south of England

Stewards.jpg

Facilities Resource Limited are delighted to support the invaluable work of the thousands of volunteer stewards in the south of England who devote time and energy to make public events safe and successful.

As the Olympics 2012 draw near, the opportunities for individuals to contribute to the event, make a valuable contribution to the community and to develop their own skills or personal qualities are increased. To make that contribution worthwhile, individuals might need extra support so we have created this website resource.

This website seeks to do this by:

    • Putting volunteers in contact with event organisers seeking volunteer event stewards and support staff
    • Supporting volunteers to gain new skills and qualifications as a route to employment or promotions as well as enabling them to become more-effective
    • Helping volunteers to access funding for training courses where possible and they need financial assistance

Training Opportunities
Basingstoke College of Technology offer a range of courses for volunteers in the south of England, including:

     • NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Volunteering (distance learning course at your own pace and in your own time)
     • SIA Door Security (requirement for SIA accreditation)
